Paul (Circa 1940)

Here are two pictures of the same boy. First is Paul, the six-year-old cripple as he was when his moneyless parents drove an old jalopy 600 miles to find out what the capper Foundation could do. Next he is shown four months later with his leg looking good as new. But would it stand up under an energetic boy’s demands? Months later, the proud father believed it would when he said, “He climbed to the State House Dome today, 840 steps.”

The mother’s reaction: “It’s a new world to us. We surely praise God for it all. Paul is sending 50 Cents-all we have-to help other cripples. We trust it will be laid on other hearts to give.”
