Harlem Globetrotters (1963)

Youngsters at the Capper Foundation for Crippled Children will benefit from the presence of the Harlem Globetrotters Monday when the famed basketball clowns come to town for an exhibition game against the San Francisco All Nations team.

The Trotters, who will play at the Municipal Auditorium Monday night at 8 p.m., will visit with the children Monday morning.

Advance man Joe Anzivino of the Trotters explained that it was a little unusual for the Trotters to make such an appearance, not because they don’t like to, but because they usually don’t have the time.

The Trotters have a Sunday afternoon game in Hutchinson and will drive here immediately after however.

The Globetrotters will feature all of their usual stunts plus the couple of new wrinkles they always come up with.

One of the newer additions will be Bobby Joe Mason, the former Bradley star who has taken over the role of dribbler, which each edition of the Trotters always has.

Mason was an All-American performer playing in the Missouri Valley.

In addition to the game, there will also be a sizable varsity program between halves.
