Adaptive Recreation

Capper Foundation offers fun, healthy programs for children, teens, adults, and families to connect and engage in constructive activity - all necessary for living the best life possible. Adaptive recreation programs create an environment where participants are safely empowered to build confidence, learn new skills, enjoy inclusiveness with family and friends, and maximize their individual potential. 

Additional adaptive recreation opportunities in the Topeka, KS area include:

  • Adaptive Recreation through Shawnee County Parks and Recreation - Activities include bocce, unified softball, dance house, and more.
  • Civitan Day Camp through Shawnee County Parks and Recreation - This camp is designed for ages 8-17 or up to 21, if enrolled in high school next fall, with developmental, cognitive, and behavioral disabilities. A variety of challenging and interesting activities include sports & games, crafts, silly camp songs, and swimming. Guest speakers, performances, and workshops occur though out the summer.
  • My Gym Children’s Fitness Center (Topeka) - With 700+ locations worldwide, My Gym is an environment where children of all abilities can feel loved and supported so their self-esteem and confidence can flourish through fun, physically engaging play and activities.
  • TOPSoccer through Topeka Soccer Club - The Outreach Program for Soccer, or TOPSoccer, is a community-based training program that is designed specifically for athletes with intellectual, emotional, and/or physical disabilities. The program strives to provide soccer opportunities for players to develop at their own pace in a safe, fun, supportive, and inclusive environment.
